The 2nd Edition of the IIMUN Vadodara Conclave, hosted at Parul University, stood as a shining example of lifelong learning and youth empowerment. Drawing over 20,000 participants from across the region, the conclave transcended traditional academic discourse, nurturing inner growth through sessions on mindfulness, mental health, and spirituality. The conclave aimed to enhance students' public speaking, critical thinking, negotiation, leadership skills, and global awareness. It blended motivational talks with youth-centric activities, helping participants develop the emotional balance, resilience, and leadership skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. The Vadodara Film and Design Festival 2.0 turned Parul University into a vibrant hub of creativity, uniting students, professionals, and art enthusiasts under one imaginative sky. Designed as a public-facing celebration of artistry, VFDF 2.0 featured masterclasses, fashion shows, and discussions with industry experts, opening the doors of the film and design industries to a wider audience. A lively flea market added a community flavour, showcasing local artistry and innovation. The event was open to participants from all backgrounds and was conducted free of charge. A legacy spanning more than two decades, Projections is celebrated as Gujarat’s largest technical festival where innovation meets inspiration ( See History). The 2024 edition, themed “COSMOS,” witnessed over 3,000 participants from 15 states and an impressive 50,000+ footfalls , transforming Parul University into a galaxy of ideas. With 50+ technical and non-technical events, 20+ workshops, and expert talks in fields such as robotics, IoT, AR/VR, aeronautics, and blockchain, participants explored the future of technology firsthand. The Literature Festival 2.0, jointly organized by Parul University and India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.), was a grand celebration of words, wisdom, and culture—open to all lovers of literature. With registration access for “Non-PU Students / External Participants / Literature Enthusiasts,” the festival created an inclusive platform where authors, poets, journalists, and readers came together for three days of enriching dialogues. Renowned figures such as Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Abhay Kumar, and Rita Chowdhury shared their creative journeys, sparking thought and imagination. The annual PharmaFest serves as the national flagship symposium of the Faculty of Pharmacy—an electrifying blend of science, skill, and celebration. The 2024 edition invited participants from across India to showcase their academic and creative brilliance through competitions, exhibitions, and cultural activities. With ₹45,000 in awards, the event recognized excellence in both technical and non-technical arenas. More than a festival, PharmaFest was a platform for professional evolution, where future pharmacists learned to merge knowledge with empathy, teamwork, and innovation.

“Samvidhan Pe Charcha” (Translating as “Discussion on the Constitution”) served as a significant public learning initiative that extended beyond traditional academic boundaries, promoting civic and constitutional literacy among students, practitioners, and the broader legal community. Organized in 2024, the second edition of this National Event served as a platform bringing together judges, advocates, scholars, and over 2500 participants from across India. The event functioned as an open forum for lifelong learning in law and governance. Through national-level competitions, expert-led workshops, and interactive discussions on contemporary constitutional issues, it provided participants—both from within and outside Parul University—opportunities to develop advocacy, interpretation, and analytical skills essential for continuous professional growth. The conclave thus embodied the essence of lifelong learning, fostering informed citizenship, critical dialogue, and sustained professional development in the legal domain.
May 3-4, 2024
The Parul University International Conference on Engineering and Technology (PiCET-2024) exemplified the university’s global academic vision. In collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), PiCET provided a stage for researchers, academicians, and industry experts to exchange ideas on Smart Engineering and sustainable development. Out of 820 paper submissions, 271 were selected for presentation across five tracks, while 15 pre-conference workshops offered hands-on learning to over 540 participants. The conference attracted 600+ delegates from around the world, with accepted papers published in IEEE Xplore. PiCET 2024 reaffirmed Parul University’s place in the global knowledge ecosystem, fostering collaboration, research, and lifelong curiosity.
August 3rd to 5th, 2023
The Vadodara Police Hackathon 2023, a collaborative effort between Vadodara Rural Police and Parul University, demonstrated the power of technology in public service. Students, innovators, and police personnel worked side by side to devise digital solutions to real-world policing challenges. With funding up to ₹10 lakh and incubation support for the best ideas, the hackathon transformed learning into civic innovation. With participation from over 90 teams across Gujarat, the hackathon saw the involvement of more than 360 students. Three teams emerged victorious, five student teams were selected to join the PIERC incubation program, and selected prototypes were even considered for pilot implementation by the Vadodara Police, reflecting the event’s direct impact on community safety and governance. It was a perfect embodiment of learning with purpose- where creativity met commitment to society.
The Maadhyam – National Media Festival is an annual event organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Parul University in Waghodia, Gujarat. Described as Gujarat's largest media festival, it offers a platform for students to engage with contemporary media realities and showcase their skills. The event attracts thousands of attendees and hundreds of participants from universities across India.

The Vadodara Toycathon 2023 was a significant event aimed at fostering innovation among young minds in the realm of toy creation. With over 100 teams participating, the event saw a total student participation of more than 400. Out of these, 50 teams were selected for the Grand Finale, and 7 teams emerged as winners, comprising 3 school teams and 4 university teams. This event not only showcased the creativity and ingenuity of the participants but also provided a platform for them to turn their innovative ideas into tangible products.

The Vadodara Kidovation Festival 2.0 celebrated the creativity and innovative spirit of young students. With participation from 13 schools and over 320 students, the festival included 8 different events designed to inspire and engage young innovators. The event is collaborative effort by Parul Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Centre (PIERC), Anand Vidya Vihar School and New Era Senior Secondary School. The festival provided a platform for children to explore their creative potential and showcased their innovative ideas, fostering a culture of creativity and problem-solving from a young age.

Parul University is located in an area which is nearby the mega-city “Vadodara” of Gujarat State of India and it is surrounded by rural villages. Faculty of Agriculture of the university organizes several agricultural programs in these villages throughout the year. One such impactful initiative is the Farmer Awareness Program organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, leveraging the university's unique geographic setting and commitment to community development. Under this program, the
Faculty of Agriculture collaborates with Gram Panchayats and organizes meetings with farmers. Through interactive sessions, the students and teaching staff disseminate up-to-date agricultural knowledge, such as the latest tools, crop management strategies, and sustainable farming practices. Many real-world challenges faced by farmers, including crop health, soil quality, and pest management are addressed in such meetings. Free soil testing services are provided to farmers during the meetings, and personalized recommendations are given to improve crop yields. The program also advocates for chemical-free farming, contributing to the adoption of eco-friendly practices, which align with the global movement towards sustainability.
The Annual Flagship event Hortus - A flower exhibition-cum-sale and agricultural showcase organized by the Faculty of Agriculture is also part of this educational initiative that connects the agricultural community with farmers and urban society by showcasing modern farming advancements, promoting sustainable practices, and offering practical demonstrations. This year, it was held on January 2nd and 3rd, 2024. The event functioned as an open public exhibition that facilitates knowledge sharing and community engagement on crucial farming issues and environmental solutions.

The Women Startup Meet 3.0 at Parul University was a dynamic two-day event held on July 11-12, 2023. With the core objective of supporting, celebrating, and empowering women entrepreneurs, organized by the Parul University Startup & Innovation Centre (PUSIC) and the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), the event focused on fostering women entrepreneurship. The meet provided a platform for aspiring and established women founders to connect, network, and gain valuable insights from a variety of guest speakers and mentors, including IAS Bhargavi Dave. Organized annually, The National Healthcare Skill Conclave (NHSC) brings together leading healthcare professionals, academicians, and policymakers to discuss the evolving landscape of skill development in healthcare. The Advance Skill and Simulation Centre at Parul University is a recognized International Training Centre (ITC) of the American Heart Association (AHA), and it has successfully conducted AHA training programs for postgraduate (PG) residents. The training programs, often including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses, are held regularly for medical professionals and students, including PG residents from various specialties of the university's associated medical college, as part of enhancing their clinical acumen and emergency preparedness. The Gujarat State Pharmacy Council-sponsored Two Days Refresher Course for Registered Pharmacists plays a
vital role in promoting continuous professional development and strengthening the healthcare system. Through
interactive sessions and expert guidance, the program enhances pharmacists’ knowledge of recent advancements
in pharmacy practice, drug safety, patient counselling, and regulatory updates. Such initiatives ensure that

Nikhar Beauty Parlour and Academy is a social initiative of Parul University, run in collaboration with the Sakshamthad Foundation under its CSR and community extension activities. It provides vocational training in beauty and wellness to empower local women with employable skills. So far, 40 women have been trained, leading to 30 self-run beauty parlours, each earning around ₹15,000 per month—promoting women’s entrepreneurship and financial independence. GARIMA – Women Livelihood Centre is a social initiative of Parul University, dedicated to empowering rural women through vocational training in stitching, tailoring, and handicrafts. Supported by partners such as the Apollo Tyres Foundation and KUPS Enterprise, GARIMA promotes women’s entrepreneurship and financial independence by enabling bulk production and sales of handcrafted products. The initiative has trained over 75 women, facilitated 11 start-ups, and collectively generated earnings of over ₹25 lakh through the production of more than 4 lakh items. Sports and cultural activities not only promote physical fitness and mental well-being but also help in the overall development of a child's personality.
Under the umbrella of the Creative Learning Studio, faculties from the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Parul University, actively engage in school outreach programs aimed at making mathematics and physics more interactive and relatable. Faculty teams visit various schools and conduct hands-on learning sessions, using practical examples, experiments, and demonstrations to simplify complex scientific concepts. These activities spark curiosity, strengthen foundational understanding, and promote experiential learning among school students.
Parul University organizes Principal Meets, Seminars and workshops for School Teachers as well as for students to address current issues and possible resolutions. This year, 1700 schools were connected through such activities.

Faculty Development and Professional Learning Beyond Campus
Across its 21 faculties from Science, Commerce, and Arts to Medical Science, Pharmacy, Design, Performing Arts, Law, Agriculture, and Social Work—Parul University regularly conducts workshops, webinars, and FDPs that are open to educators and graduates from across India. For instance, The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Engineering and Technology collaborated with National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur and organized One week FDP on “Unlocking Potential: Advanced Mathematics for Engineers and Scientists” during October 21-26, 2024.
Global Educational Outreach
Winner of FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards for Excellence in Globalization , Parul University practices not only exchange programes but it leads Initiatives like the YEEP (Young Entrepreneurs and Emerging Professionals) program, offering students from both institutions a unique platform for entrepreneurial learning and innovation. It is a collaborative initiative with Bern University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland. Since 2017, this initiative has brought together Swiss and Indian students for a summer school, combining business ideation, market research, cultural exchange, and training sessions by foreign professors. Till the 5th edition of this program, in total 12 Swiss Professors and 66 Swiss Students have visited India and interacted with the stakeholders of Parul University. The program’s outcomes include 24 developed business ideas, 10 of which were successfully commercialized in India, with one start-up, MEDREF Healthbridge Solutions, earning the prestigious “Youth Start-up of the Year” award at Eastern Africa Startup Awards 2024. Entrepreneurship and Startup Outreach
Through the Parul Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Centre (PIERC), the University organizes a series of summer camps every year aimed at nurturing curiosity and scientific temper among school students. These include the Young Innovator Summer Camp, Jr. Scientist Summer Camp, and Budding Scientist Summer Camp, conducted between June 2023 and May 2024. The camps provide hands-on exposure to innovation, design thinking, robotics, and basic research methods through interactive sessions and experiments led by Parul University faculty and innovators.
More than 600 students from various schools across Gujarat participated in these
camps,
gaining practical insights into science, creativity, and innovation, while experiencing the vibrant
research
culture of the university. These initiatives play a key role in bridging the gap between
school-level
curiosity and higher-level innovation, thus expanding the university’s educational impact beyond
campus
boundaries.

YEEP primarily refers to the Young Entrepreneur Exchange Project - Indian Summer School program. Parul University, through its global collaboration with the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland, organised the fifth edition of YEEP — a cross-cultural entrepreneurial summer school. The programme enabled Swiss and Indian students to co-create startup ideas addressing real-world challenges, engage with industry mentors, and explore India’s innovation landscape.
Beyond a conventional campus programme, YEEP 2024 embodied education beyond boundaries by
integrating
intercultural learning, innovation pedagogy, and entrepreneurial incubation. It served as an
international
outreach platform where Parul University’s faculty and mentors extended their expertise to global
learners,
reinforcing the university’s commitment to Innovation, Inclusivity, and Internationalization.
The YEEP-2024 ran from July 11-26, 2024, and focused on fostering global

The Parul Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Centre (PIERC), established in 2015 under Parul University, extends its innovation ecosystem beyond the campus through structured outreach and mentorship programs. Acting as a regional nodal centre for innovation and startups, PIERC nurtures creativity, entrepreneurship, and business incubation among students and faculty from various institutions.
As a Mentor Institution under the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) – IIC Mentor-Mentee Scheme, PIERC has guided several higher education institutions by conducting mentoring sessions, startup workshops, and incubation handholding activities. Its experts have delivered sessions on design thinking, business model canvas, and value proposition development, mentoring over 500 students and faculty on entrepreneurial practices and helping mentee institutions establish their own innovation cells. Education Outreach Activities supporting to Government Initiatives:
As one of the eminent universities of Western India, Parul University upholds the spirit of contributing to nation building and supports the initiatives taken by the State Government as well as Central Government, such as Promotion and Implementation of National Education Policy-2020, Skill India, Digital India, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan and others. The university regularly organizes celebrations of festivals and awareness activities based on the themes promoting these schemes and missions.
The university has adopted 50 villages under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, which is a flagship programme of Ministry of Education to create a vibrant relationship between the society and higher educational institutes, providing knowledge and technology support to improve the livelihoods in rural areas and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and private organizations in the society. The students and staff of the university regularly organizes educational drives regarding health, hygiene and quality of life.
The University runs several projects for these villages such as Garima (under which the women community is educated and supported enough with the skill to generate livelihood and become financially independent), Sahiyar-Gram-Hatt (an exhibition cum sale fair of the products manufactured by women groups, women artisans, and women organizations), Sanjeevani – Parul Mahila Credit Cooperative Society (aimed at empowering women by developing and promoting their financial literacy and management skills).
